Like a lot of UK people out there I use plus.net as an ISP. They provide really good FreeBSD hosting, that is until last week while they were doing some maintainance one of the 200GB Hard Drives died.
I don't mind because in fact I find that the most fun is to be had installing things rather than actually using whatever I have setup.
Mood:

Weekend
Listening to: Ben Folds - Late
Watching: The Village
I had just got into doing backups from the command line just as they took the disk offline.
scp -prv ~/directory user@remotehost:~/backup
Sort of thing.
The only drawback is that I was scp-ing the backup to another account that resides on the same fixed disk. Therefore if that disk fails then both accounts disappear of course.
I would send it to a Windows box if I could be arsed to setup Cygwin and sshd on it but instead I have just downloaded Ubuntu GNU/Linux to use as the only install on a new machine I have just finished.
At least I have the new Ben Folds and Garbage album to listen to while I do this.
